Negotiating Update (5/11/2024)

Fellow Allegiant Air Pilots,

Your New Negotiating Team’s Workflow

Your new Negotiating Committee has been working on your behalf each day to be best prepared to get a Tentative Agreement (TA) that meets our pilot group’s needs. Each of us on the team are encouraged by our ability to work together and reach consensus on complex issues.

We have met virtually for approximately 7 to 9 hours each day since being assembled. Our discussions are not surface-level dialogue. We are engaged daily in creating data-driven, functional, and realistic operational concepts and drafting contractual language aimed at significantly enhancing the quality of life for all Allegiant pilots while sustaining the company’s robust business model.

Meeting with Mediators and Company Representatives

Your Negotiating Committee had its formal introduction meeting with the NMB this week. It was a pleasure to meet with NMB personnel and we look forward to mediator involvement in the process as we move forward.

We also had our first mediated bargaining session (virtually) with the company. The company made a presentation to our team, after which we had encouraging dialogue about the proper path to move forward. While there is much work left to do, we appreciated the willingness to collaborate and address our most complex issues, particularly scheduling and reserve requirements, at our in-person bargaining session on May 20th.

We are enthusiastic about our next bargaining session. We anticipate that with the right collaborative environment and the decision-making stakeholders present, we can make significant progress on our scheduling issues—which previously received much less attention than it deserved.

Looking Ahead

BLUF: We’re ready to get to work.

Overall, we are well prepared as a team and cautiously optimistic. We truly understand the needs of our pilot group and are prepared to explore creative solutions to achieve parity with the industry with regards to quality of life and compensation. We understand that any ratifiable agreement must allow for mutual success of both parties without compromising on what matters most to our pilot group.

Upcoming Events

We’re looking forward to seeing you at our Pilot Meet and Greet event in Cincinnati on Tuesday, May 14th. The event will be held at Nicholson’s Pub at 1800. This is a great opportunity to share your thoughts and concerns with your committee.

Your committee will also be meeting in Cincinnati through the 17th for in-person preparation for our bargaining session in Las Vegas on May 20th-23rd.

We value your feedback and will be transparent with you to the degree that we are permitted to do so. This is your contract – reach out to us anytime with questions or concerns at negotiations@apa2118.org.

The question of the week for our pilots: What is *your* price for the *company’s* need to have operational flexibility?
