Negotiating Update (6/4/2024)

Dear Fellow Pilots:

A Proactive Approach to Advance Negotiations

Your Negotiating Committee is meeting with company scheduling personnel this week in advance of next week’s mediated negotiations. Your Union requested these meetings to focus discussions on improvements to pilot schedules and related operational issues. Addressing complex scheduling issues with key staff outside of the standard negotiating environment is an important step towards advancing our ongoing negotiation efforts and the scheduling improvements you expect.

As you know, Section 15–Scheduling is one of the most important and complex parts of our contract. Successfully achieving a TA on Section 15 will require collaboration from both the union and the company to address the legitimate needs of the pilot group, while at the same time recognizing Allegiant’s unique operational and business model.

Preparedness and Understanding

Your Negotiating Committee frequently meets to conduct extensive preparation for upcoming bargaining sessions, which takes into account input from subject matter experts including external industry professionals and those within our pilot ranks. We are bringing that approach to Section 15, as well as other sections in our contract.

Negotiation Timeline

We are steadfast in our work to achieve a new contract in the most expedient manner possible, but with the understanding that a negotiation timeline cannot be demanded nor predicted. We know you expect us to do what it takes to get a good contract. Failure is not an option!

We want to make this clear: we DO NOT want to stay at the negotiation table one day more or one day less than it takes to get the contract you deserve.

Conclusion

We are fully committed to solving the pilot group’s current issues and attaining the compensation, work rules, and career protections necessary for Allegiant to become a career destination for pilots. The Allegiant pilots will not settle for, nor ratify, anything less.

We look forward to a productive week of bargaining. Your support and continuous feedback are as important as ever as we look ahead to future negotiating sessions.

Thank you for your support.
