Allegiant Pilots,

As some of you are aware, a small group of Allegiant Air pilots are attempting to jeopardize your future through a decertification drive. This selfish, short-sighted, and reckless action threatens to further delay contract negotiations and directly aligns with management’s objective to provoke discord and “conquer through division.” Allegiant Air likely welcomes this as an opportunity to undermine our efforts at the negotiating table. This decertify effort has less merit than the faceless individuals who are leading it – it will not pass.

Further, we have reason to believe that an ALPA officer may also be involved. Certain pilots have been in direct contact with the ALPA National President, Captain Jason Ambrosi, who may have provided counsel and support. This is an outrageous and reckless act of disregard for the true principles of trade unionism and clearly supports a management-favored outcome. The involvement of an ALPA officer is a particularly surprising stab in the back, considering that the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) has locked arms and stood with our ALPA Brothers and Sisters at United Air Lines, providing material resources and support to their pilots in their drive to achieve their current CBA. We strongly urge ALPA leaders to consider that their actions are aiding management in weakening organized labor through discord and division.

Unionism 101 – What You Need To Know

• Understand that a change in representation at this stage will have immediate negative consequences.
• The IBT and your Local 2118 leadership are prepared to protect the Allegiant Pilots from any actors, individual or otherwise, who stand to personally benefit from these acts of division and will respond swiftly and decisively to any action that seeks to divide or harm our bargaining position for personal gain.
• Engaging in acts of dual-unionism and treasonous behavior is a direct and serious violation of the IBT Constitution and Local 2118 Bylaws. Insurrectionists may not have considered the fact that they will be held publicly accountable. Your leadership will use any legal means necessary to protect your future.

This Is NOT The Time For Infighting and Chaos

The Teamsters are committed to advancing your interests and protecting your future. We will win this battle, but only through unity and solidarity. Division and factionalism simply cannot stand at this critical juncture. We urge you to lock arms, stand together, and reject any action that threatens progress at the negotiating table or your collective future.
