Future Negotiating Sessions

There have understandably been many questions regarding the frequency of future meetings. It is important for our pilots to know that your Negotiating Committee has been and remains prepared and willing to meet and negotiate with the Company as often as possible, with or without the mediator present. Our desire to responsibly accelerate negotiations and achieve a fair contract with the utmost expediency is simply without question. As of now, we have received no response from the Company for additional meetings to expedite the process. Our next scheduled sessions are August 13-15, September 3-5, and October 29-31, with locations yet to be determined. Should any additional dates be scheduled, you will be notified.

Our Work Continues

Between meeting dates, your Negotiating Committee continues to work internally. We frequently meet virtually throughout the week, primarily focusing on negotiations preparation and strategy. As you are aware, the Company responded to our pass on Section 14 – Hours of Service and Section 16 – Reserve at our last session. Today we sent the Company our full-language counterproposals and told the company we are available to meet this week to answer their questions. If the Company agrees to meet, you will be notified. Additionally, we are still awaiting the Company’s response to our passes on Section 15 – Scheduling and the proposed Preferential Bidding System (PBS) Letter of Agreement (LOA).

Collaborative Efforts in Costing

During the last week, our costing experts and members of your Negotiating Committee met virtually with the Company’s costing team. Costing assumptions were productively discussed, specifically those relating to Section 15 – Scheduling. This marks a significant and positive shift from the previous directives issued by management that prohibited their costing team from collaborating with the Union. We hope this mutually-beneficial approach will continue into the future. We will keep you updated on any material changes or developments in this area.

Base Visits and Pilot Engagement

Our participation in scheduled base visits continued with our presence at the Destin (VPS) base event on Tuesday, July 16. We greatly appreciated both the high turnout and overwhelming support from our North Florida pilots. As always, we appreciate the opportunity to speak to you all face-to-face and discuss our negotiating efforts in a factual and relatable manner. We remain humbled and grateful for your participation and engagement as we push towards finalizing an agreement worthy of your consideration and vote. Additional base visit locations and dates are forthcoming. Watch future Union communications for dates and locations to be announced.

A special thank you to all of our 1,300+ pilots for your efforts in supporting this committee as we work to get you a contract that you’re proud to support. Your continued resilience and solidarity will be crucial as we continue to negotiate the most challenging sections of our future contract to the finish line.
