Re: Submitting Flight Pay Loss (FPL)
Pre-awarding Union Business (UB) days off provides serval important benefits, by allowing
- Pilots to provide Union Representation
- Leadership, Executive Board (when out of Trusteeship),
- Ability to plan and budget UB days
- When conflicts arise, prioritize UB days for Union representation
- Each pilot to plan monthly bid submission
- Union Impact login
Requesting Union Business pre-awarded days off,
- Identify events/obligations that should be attended
- Submit request in Union Impact
- Submit as far in advance as possible
- Allows the Local Union to review UB days request
- Review anticipated hotel, travel, and conference costs
- UB day conflicts can be resolved early in the process by the Local Union
- Submit a minimum of 14 days before the bids open
- Approved Pre-awarded UB days should be in your bid package when bids open
- When submitted 4 days or less before bids open, your request may not get processed before bids open
Pre-award discrepancies in bid package:
- Notify the Local Union and Company when
- Missing requested date(s)
- Incorrect UB date in bid package
- If incorrect date in bid package, should be fixed by the Company
- If missing may not have been approved by Local Union or Company
Post-award submission process:
- Submit when known
- Submit using Union Impact
- Each submission will be handled on a case by case basis by the Local Union
