Hurricane Message
Fellow Pilots,
Your Union volunteers continue to receive calls and texts from pilots affected by the devastation of Hurricane Helene. We are here to assist in whatever capacity we can. Do not hesitate to reach out to a union representative if you need assistance or have difficulties when dealing with the Company. You and your loved one’s safety is what’s most important.
If you are unable to complete your assigned schedule due to the hurricane’s aftermath, contact your Regional Chief Pilot (RCP). Inform them of your situation and that you need their assistance with removal from assignments. During these difficult times, it is unreasonable to expect you to contact Crew Services, wait on a long hold, and then have a discussion with Schedulers about removal and coding, etc. The Chief Pilot’s Office (CPO) is equipped and able to handle this situation for you while you take care of your home and or loved ones. Many have already received wellness checks from the CPO. In addition to those affected across Florida, AVL and TYS currently have power grid, communication, and even water problems as well. These will not be resolved quickly or easily. Keep your RCP informed.
If you are a G4PAF member, remember to reach out if you need any financial assistance in the coming days, weeks, or months. As a reminder to our pilot group, G4PAF was created as the result of the Allegiant Sunshine Fund denying pilots financial assistance because they deemed us as earning too much money. If you are not a G4PAF member, we encourage you to sign up (http://www.G4PAF.org).
Several of our union volunteers are currently being affected by this disaster alongside you. We understand the frustration and life-changing results that this storm has caused — and will continue to cause — across several of our bases. Again, please do not hesitate to reach out to us for any assistance. Stay safe!
